Congress Networking Tour

Tuesday 23 June
This networking tour will take place on Tuesday 23 June 2009 before the start of the World Congress. The tour combines visits to geothermal and hydropower projects in Iceland and offers a chance to delve into the breathtaking nature of Iceland and its history, along with the opportunity to meet fellow World Congress participants.

The first stop on the tour will be the Hellishei̡i Geothermal Plant, a 230 MW state of the art geothermal development. Then onwards to B̼rfell, a 270 MW
hydropower plant in the centre of the South Lowlands of Iceland, for a short visit to the power plant and lunch. Whilst returning to Reykjav��k you will visit the Gullfoss falls, the Geysir hotspring area and the ancient Thingvellir parliament site.
